Nestled in the bustling area of Anjeongsunhwan-ro, La Plush greets you with a contemporary vibe that feels like home but with an elevated flair. We loved how inviting the space felt, with modern décor, chic furniture, and just the right touch of casual elegance that makes you want to settle in and stay awhile.
Avocado Toast: An Unforgettable Affair
One of the main attractions that brought us to La Plush was its Avocado Toast. Being a Texan, I'm notoriously picky about my avo-toast. The only place that ever came close to perfection was Juicy Joy back in Texas. But La Plush? It hits the nail on the head.
The toast itself is a rustic sourdough, grilled to the perfect crunch. But the star of the show is the avocado, which is whipped into a buttery spread that's both creamy and tangy, with just the right pinch of salt and spices. Each bite is a comforting reminder of home, making me nostalgic and grateful at the same time.
Bacon Worth Traveling For
Jon is simpler in his food preferences, and for him, bacon is the ultimate comfort food. La Plush offers bacon that is, in Jon's words, "The best bacon I’ve ever had, anywhere!" The bacon strips are thick, crisp yet tender, and pack a flavor punch that we've not found anywhere else, let alone in South Korea.
More Than Just the Basics
While the Avocado Toast and bacon were our primary cravings, we also tried a Mocha Shake and Birthday Pancakes. The Mocha Shake was a luscious blend of coffee and chocolate, perfectly chilled and satisfyingly rich. The Birthday Pancakes were a festive treat, fluffy, and drizzled with just the right amount of cream cheese frosting and sprinkles.
Bottomless Mimosas? Yes, Please!
Now, what caught our eye on the menu was the option for bottomless mimosas. While we couldn't indulge due to it being our weekday lunch date, the plan is set for a weekend brunch replete with mimosas. Expect an update on that experience soon!
