Cafe Humphreys: The Ultimate Haven for Pups and People

Updated: Aug 29, 2023

Any dog parent knows that finding the perfect spot where you can simultaneously enjoy a good meal and let your furry friends run wild is akin to finding a needle in a haystack. But Café Humphreys in Pyeongtaek-si is that rare gem that offers both. From Frozen Hot Chocolate to fenced-in doggy playgrounds, this café has become a family favorite.

The Café That Barks Up The Right Tree

Situated conveniently in Sindae-ri, Café Humphreys welcomes you with its laid-back, rustic ambiance. What sets it apart are the two separate fenced-in dog areas—one for the larger canines like our chill Anatolian shepherd mix, Jada, and another for smaller energetic pups like Blizzard, our family's corgi.

For the Big Dawgs

Jada, Jon's dog, felt right at home in the larger dog area. And why wouldn't she? The large dog area is as spacious as they come, with a big patch of grass that just beckons the dogs to romp and play. There are various cozy corners where pet parents can sit back, relax, and maybe indulge in some delicious lunch options.

Jada, being the diva she is, seemed more interested in the human attention than doggy playtime. "Jada just wants the pets," as Jon puts it. During those hot summer days, there's even a water sprinkler area. Jada might not care for running under them, but they're a huge hit for cooling off those playful pooches.

Small but Mighty

Russell, and his corgi, Blizzard, had a blast in the small dog area. She may be smaller in size, but she’s bursting with energy and fun. Blizzard loves zooming around, and Russell had an excellent vantage point from a suspended egg chair, sipping on his Frozen Hot Chocolate. Yes, you read that right—a suspended egg chair inside a dog park! It’s the epitome of comfort meets cool, making you and your pet feel like the VIPs you are.

Food & Treats for All!

Speaking of Frozen Hot Chocolate, the café's menu isn’t limited to just doggy delights; humans get their fair share of mouthwatering options too. While the dogs played, we decided to grab lunch. Russell was adamant that his Frozen Hot Chocolate was the "best thing ever!" and Jon and I have to agree, it's a unique and delicious concoction that you must try.

And worry not, Café Humphreys has not forgotten about your fur babies. They offer homemade dog treats that are as nutritious as they are delicious. Blizzard and Jada got their paws on some, and let’s just say, they were both more than satisfied.

Safety First

One of the things we appreciate the most about Café Humphreys is the safety precautions. Both dog areas are securely fenced and well-maintained. It allows for a sense of freedom and security that every pet parent craves when letting their dog off-leash in a public space.

Plans to Paw Back

Given the excellent amenities, scrumptious food, and the open space for our four-legged family members to enjoy, Café Humphreys has definitely earned its spot on our favorites list. Jon summarized it best when he said, "Dogs are happy, Russell’s happy, and we're happy. That’s a perfect day."

So if you find yourself in the Pyeongtaek area, do your family (two-legged and four-legged alike) a favor and make your way to Café Humphreys. Whether you’re in the mood to spoil your dogs, enjoy a tasty lunch, or just relax in an egg chair with a Frozen Hot Chocolate in hand, Café Humphreys has got you covered.
