A Kebab Feast in Pyeongtaek: The Good Kebabs Experience

Updated: Sep 7, 2023

It's no secret that Jon and I are food enthusiasts, and our taste buds are always eager for a culinary adventure. We've explored various nooks and crannies in and around Pyeongtaek, and when we had a chance to check out a spot in the Ville just outside Camp Humphreys, we couldn't resist. So, this week's culinary outing took us to Good Kebabs, a spot that's been on my radar for a while.

The Compromise and The Mix

Jon was initially skeptical about trying lamb. "I'm not so sure about lamb," he confessed, pulling a face that immediately signaled he wasn't fully on board. I could see where he was coming from; lamb has a distinct, somewhat gamey taste that not everyone enjoys. However, in the spirit of gastronomic adventure (and compromise), we decided to get a mix of lamb and chicken on a jumbo baguette. Jon’s hesitance dissipated with his first bite. "You were right," he grinned. "This is pretty good."

The Ambiance

Situated in a bustling corner of the Ville, Good Kebabs offers the perfect blend of casual and cozy. Its inviting storefront instantly puts you at ease, while the scent of sizzling meats and fresh bread fills the air. There's an unmistakable authenticity to the place, probably due to its wonderful fusion of Korean and Middle Eastern flavors.

The Culinary Delight

When our food arrived, we were greeted by a gigantic baguette, generously filled with chunks of succulent lamb and tender chicken, complemented by an array of fresh veggies and sauces. And let's not forget the fries – crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside, they were the perfect side to our meaty feast.

The lamb was beautifully cooked, tender, and full of flavor without being too overpowering. It melded seamlessly with the chicken, offering a meaty duo that was both satisfying and adventurous. The bread itself was a marvel—crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and strong enough to hold the generous fillings without becoming soggy.

Service with a Smile

What elevated our experience at Good Kebabs was not just the food but also the fantastic service. The staff were friendly and attentive, ensuring that our meal was up to our expectations and that we were comfortable throughout our visit.

The Verdict

As we took our last bites and looked around the now-familiar ambiance of Good Kebabs, we knew we would be back. If you find yourself in the Ville and are looking for a quick yet fulfilling meal, don't hesitate to drop by Good Kebabs. Whether you're a lamb skeptic like Jon or an adventurous eater like me, this place has something for everyone.

So, there you have it—a delectable lunch date at Good Kebabs, where the food is as hearty as the service is warm. Until our next culinary adventure, happy eating!
