We initially visited the park with the primary intent of beholding the renowned tulip gardens. Accompanied by my husband Jon, our son Russell, and our friends Jurate and her young son August, we were met with a breathtaking tapestry of color. Tulips in various shades—from flaming red to soft pastel hues—created an ethereal picture. But as we soon found out, the tulips were just the opening act in a lineup full of surprises.

We couldn't resist taking turns sitting on the butterfly benches and posing next to the colorful characters, ensuring we had mementos of our day.
